  The two stories of "The Flood"

  in genesis, the two stories of "the flood" have been combined into one.. each story was created by separate groups for their own theological purpose, and with very different attitudes towards god.. i have provided a scan from a book that untangles these two accounts.

  a woman who is studying/attending the kh where my mom goes has 8 kids.

  the oldest is 15y and the baby is only 7 weeks old.

  after studying for some time, she decided it would be morally right for her and the kids father to get married.

  Sisters told they strictly can't wear slacks to Meetings to keep them submissive! Why?

  yes slacks and pants on women are evil.....the first step to wanting to be elders or even worse lesbians!

  so the watchtower in it's wisdom put a strict bad on women wearing pants at meetings, even in siberia or alaska where it is freezing cold....i qoute the governing body who said: "we need to show these sisters who wears the pants in our congregations...literally.".

  in the 70's when it was all the rage, my mum tried wearing slacks to the hall....."go and get changed" said the sister who studied with her.

  Lonesome winds whisper through the dark valley surrounding the highway that is my soul. I carry a lantern burning from the precarious end of a wick that is shortened with every breath I steal from the hollow vast dampness that wafts through my memories like so many lost thoughts. Somehow I find the courage to continue, for continuing is the only way through the darkness.

  Yet continuing, I know the wind will blow, even though the answers play merrily just beyond the damp darkness, capering around like so many fuzzy puppies. The tiny wick burns slowly, its tired breath illuminating the edges of the path, then following into the darkness beyond the current thoughts of motion. There is no rest, only the forward motion, fighting against the darkness.

  Sometimes I fear my lantern holds a fuse, not a wick. But these thoughts I push away like so many wolf's eyes glaring from the bushes, hungry and feeling their prize. Rain falls and bridges tremble from the waves somewhere in the darkness, and yet the lantern burns. Ever advancing I take another step, and keep walking.
